My first read of Tolkien was from the illegal Ace paperback editions given to me by a cousin back in the mid ‘70s that I still have. In those early years, I would read Lord of the Rings every year and eagerly awaited publication of The Silmarillion. Today, I am an avid reader of fantasy. I love travel, art, history, architecture, herbals, and cooking. Home is Birmingham, Alabama, USA, but I’m liable to turn up anywhere.
