In this workshop we're going to learn to identify the literary style Tolkien uses to indicate a fact, context, relationship or concept in his descriptive text. In the workshop we'll show examples from his work and an explanation of his techniques. Then the workshop will produce their own examples using Tolkien's technique. Sounds intimidating but is easy & fun.
Robert Viscusi is a Berlin-based native New York writer & filmmaker with a particular interest in the function of epic poetry and it's oral tradition as the basis and wellspring of western literature.
