Marie Bretagnolle
Marie Bretagnolle (she / her) is a French doctoral student whose work focuses on the illustrations created for British and American editions of J.R.R. and Christopher Tolkien’s Middle-earth texts. She is preparing her PhD under the joint supervision of Vincent Ferré, a renowned specialist of Tolkien, and Isabelle Gadoin, specialist in text-image relationships. She has presented her work at various Tolkien Society events since 2019, and interviewed Alan Lee for the French national Library in February 2020.
