Mike Percival joined the Tolkien Society in 1983. A year later at his first Oxonmoot he thought to himself "the ambience of this party would be improved by using some stage lighting for the Ents". And the rest is history. Apart from doing tech at Oxonmoot almost ever since, Mike has also done stints as editor of Amon Hen and Treasurer, and since 2012 he and Maggie have created and hosted the opening night pub quiz at Oxonmoot. Having been on the committee for Tolkien 2019 he was somehow talked into becoming Co-Chair for Oxonmoot 2020 – never expecting that to become Oxonmoot Online.
When he isn’t volunteering for the Tolkien Society or working as Global Head of Manufacturing Engineering at Rolls-Royce, he indulges in long distance trail running and looks forward to visiting (and Skyping) his grown up sons in New York and Brussels.
